Estimating the capital cost of advanced nuclear reactor designs
Argonne researchers are developing and utilizing the Algorithm for the Capital Cost Estimation of Reactor Technologies (ACCERT) to estimate the overnight capital cost of advanced reactor designs to support efficient design development and preliminary cost estimates of advanced test reactors like the Versatile Test Reactor (VTR). They are working to produce a preliminary cost estimate and identify the key contributors to the overnight capital cost of the proposed reactor design.
