Jordi Poblador Ibanez

Postdoctoral Appointee

Biography

Dr. Jordi Poblador Ibanez is a postdoctoral researcher in the Multi-Physics Computation group within the Transportation and Power Systems division at Argonne. His research interests focus on using computational fluid dynamics to develop engineering models, improve numerical methods, and perform fundamental research. In particular, focus areas include multi-phase flows, liquid atomization, trans- and supercritical flows, vorticity dynamics, and the thermophysical modeling of fuels (e.g., sustainable aviation fuels).

Jordi received his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2022 from the University of California Irvine. His dissertation focused on developing a numerical and modeling framework to characterize various atomization subdomains of liquid hydrocarbon fuels injected at supercritical ambient pressure typical of rocket combustors.
