The Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) Employees of the Month program recognizes individuals from two categories each month — programmatic and operations — based on the excellence of their work and demonstration of Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork.
April 2021 PSE Employee of the Month — Operations category
- Jamie Hayley, a financial business partner, made significant contributions to the Physics division over an annual budget briefing preparation period. Displaying extraordinary dedication and effort, she provided invaluable support to the division and individuals submitting proposals with efficiency and proficiency. Her efforts reflect Argonne’s Core Values of Impact, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork.
April 2021 PSE Employee of the Month — Programmatic Category
- In support of the ATLAS experimental program, working with Health Physics and the Quality Assurance and Service division, Bob Scott developed methods, procedures and safeguards for producing high-quality beams of Carbon-14. His attention to detail and methodical approach resulted in a substantial reduction in material consumed, an expansion of the ATLAS beam capabilities and a successful experiment in December 2020.
Each month, the PSE Associate Laboratory Director and Division Directors review PSE Employees of the Month nominations and select recipients. All Argonne employees are eligible for nomination, including people within PSE and those who work with PSE. All PSE staff, postdocs and students are welcome to submit nominations. The call for nominations opens on the first of each month.
