Jamie Hayley, a Financial Business Partner for Argonne’s Physics (PHY) division, went above and beyond to reorganize a PHY stockroom to be more useful to the division. She worked long hours communicating with staff and discarding unnecessary office supplies and chemicals. Her efforts display Argonne’s Core Values of Impact and Teamwork.

Sang Soo Lee, a geochemist in Argonne’s Chemical Sciences and Engineering division, led an effort to understand the behavior of electrolytes at charged solid-water interfaces at high electrolyte concentration. Lee’s analysis, coupled with molecular dynamics simulations by collaborators at Princeton University, demonstrated a new understanding of these systems. The work has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Each month, the PSE Associate Laboratory Director and Division Directors review PSE Employees of the Month nominations and select recipients. All Argonne employees are eligible for nomination, including people within PSE and those who work with PSE. All PSE staff, postdocs and students are welcome to submit nominations. The call for nominations opens on the first of each month.
