Days before an experiment at the Advanced Photon Source, Maria Contos, procurement associate in PSE, and Penny Kolpacki, executive assistant in Argonne’s Chemical Sciences and Engineering (CSE) division, worked with procurement to quickly acquire a crucial piece of equipment. Their dedication and efficiency enabled a successful experiment, and their efforts reflect Argonne’s Core Values of Impact and Teamwork.

Norm Rendon, a financial business partner for Argonne’s High Energy Physics (HEP) division, provided invaluable assistance in preparing budgets for the division’s DOE Early Career proposals. Rendon’s efforts were critical to the process, and his work reflects his drive to assist HEP’s programmatic mission.

Anh Vu, a materials scientist in CSE, made timely and significant contributions to experiments that were part of a project with a large industrial partner. His ability to act quickly to ensure success of the experiments reflects Argonne’s Core Values of Impact and Teamwork, and his efforts will bolster Argonne’s reputation with industry.
Each month, the PSE Associate Laboratory Director and Division Directors review PSE Employees of the Month nominations and select recipients. All Argonne employees are eligible for nomination, including people within PSE and those who work with PSE. All PSE staff, postdocs and students are welcome to submit nominations. The call for nominations opens on the first of each month.
