The Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) Employees of the Month program recognizes individuals from two categories each month — operations and programmatic — based on the excellence of their work and demonstration of Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork.

January 2022 PSE Employee of the Month — Operations category

• Jenny Hill, budget administrator for PSE, has gone above and beyond in training a new NST financial business partner. She has served as a resource and backup during this transfer of knowledge, all while maintaining her regular responsibilities. She has clearly demonstrated Argonne’s Core Values of Impact, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork.

January 2022 PSE Employees of the Month — Programmatic category

• Jason Anderson, Joe Landl and Mark Hetherington from Argonne’s Physics division worked together to optimize a preventative maintenance plan for part of a power supply for the cryogenic system at the Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS). They completed this complex project without any safety or operational incidents, increasing the reliability of ATLAS and serving as a model for future critical system maintenance.

Each month, the PSE Associate Laboratory Director and Division Directors review PSE Employees of the Month nominations and select recipients. All Argonne employees are eligible for nomination, including people within PSE and those who work with PSE. All PSE staff, postdocs and students are welcome to submit nominations. The call for nominations opens on the first of each month.
