The Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) Employees of the Month program recognizes individuals from two categories each month — programmatic and operations — based on the excellence of their work and demonstration of Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork.
November 2021 PSE Employee of the Month — Programmatic category
- Fulya Dogan, a chemist in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering division, played a significant role in bringing a new multi-year effort to the lab to create a characterization program for the ReCell recycling program. She is also a lab area lead and is working to organize and dispose of waste materials, displaying Argonne’s Core Values of Impact and Safety.
November 2021 PSE Employee of the Month — Operations category
- Ryan McQueen, a consultant in the Nanoscience and Technology division, displayed Argonne’s Core Value of Impact with his quick work and customer service. When a computer in the Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) Cleanroom wouldn’t start, McQueen worked diligently to provide a solution by the next day. His efforts ensured that CNM users could complete their experiments.
Each month, the PSE Associate Laboratory Director and Division Directors review PSE Employees of the Month nominations and select recipients. All Argonne employees are eligible for nomination, including people within PSE and those who work with PSE. All PSE staff, postdocs and students are welcome to submit nominations. The call for nominations opens on the first of each month.
