Dr. Mark Peters opened the conference by welcoming over 250 undergraduates from all over the mid-west and Dr. Mary Anne Yates kick off the conference with an inspiring keynote entitled “Adventures of a Nuclear Chemist”. Throughout the day, conferences goers had over 100 student research presentations ranging across all science disciplines to hear; tours of Argonne’s Advanced Photon Source and Argonne’s Tandem Linac Accelerator System to see; demonstrations in super conductivity and acoustics of musical instruments to experience; and opportunities to connect with Argonne staff and researchers. The end closed with an energetic panel of our own Dr. Erin Thomas, Dr. Laura Zamboni and Mr. Jarrad Hampton-Marcell discussing the role of mentoring across the multiple stages of a career. Thank you to all the participated in such a successful event.
