Lee Teng Fellowship

Overview

The Illinois Accelerator Institute established the Lee Teng Undergraduate Internship in Accelerator Science and Engineering in 2008 to provide junior level college students an opportunity to study with experts in the field of accelerator science and technology. Argonne National Laboratory, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL), and the U.S. Particle Accelerator School (USPAS) jointly carry out this program each summer for ten undergraduate students.

Participants are given a mentored research project at one of the national labs, which they carry out during their 10-week summer residency. Successful candidates will also attend the summer session of the USPAS. The next summer session will be held Jun 5-16, 2023 in Melville, Long Island, NY, sponsored by Stony Brook University. Students will take the Fundamentals of Accelerator Physics and Technology with Simulations and Measurements Lab, for which undergraduate credit is available. This program includes a generous stipend and covers domestic travel expenses.

Internship program May 29-Aug 4, 2023, includes USPAS session Jun 5-16, 2023, in Melville, Long Island, NY
