Low Energy Technical Support

The Low Energy Technical Support group has many roles supporting the Low Energy Physics group, from routine maintenance and setup of experimental equipment to the design, engineering, and implementation of major projects both at ATLAS and elsewhere.

The Low Energy Technical Support (LETS) group supports the local and user research programs at the ATLAS facility, as well as other facilities and larger community-driven activities, such as the Gamma-Ray Energy Tracking Array (GRETA). The LETS group, comprised of electrical and mechanical engineers and detector specialists, is involved in all aspects of detector design, build, implementation, and testing. Locally, these include the Argonne Gas-Filled Analyzer (AGFA), the Fragment Mass Analyzer (FMA), the N=126 factory, Gammasphere, MUSIC, HELIOS, etc.
